I would like to see CommitCRM support the ability to scan documents directly into a client record.
As we work on client projects we often end up with documents that need to be added to a client's file. We currently have to scan them and import them into the client record. It would be a HUGE help to be able to come back to the office, open a client record, click on New Document, and Aquire the document via a TWAIN scanner. This would go a long way in making sure all the documentation is entered into the record. Anyone else see the benefit of this? |

As you probably know, once documents are scanned you can drag/drop them into the Account in RangerMSP and the scanned file is filed under the Account. In case a lot of documents were scanned into a folder for this Account, and you don't want to drag/drop each. You can use the Import Document Folder option. Right click above the Docs tab of the Account and select Import Documents Folder, select the files to import and confirm. All scanned docs will be filed under the Account. The last option would be to have a developer write a plug in to RangerMSP using the RangerMSP open API. The API allows the option to push new Documents to Accounts in RangerMSP. So you'll need to talk TWAIN with your scanner/s and have the program you write push the scanned document into the Account. We may get to it ourselves sometime, however, currently there are some other, more popular items, we're working on. HTH Bracha |

Thanks for the feedback. I'll certainly consider the options presented. Please keep the request in mind as documentation is a pretty important part of keeping client files updated and the ability to easily add documents to a client record would be a great addition to the CommitCRM tool.
