Is there a way to make a chart in CommitCRM under the Ticket and/or Problem areas??

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,

You can add different shapes to the report from this Shape icon in the report designer window.

In case you wish to add a box with text, you should probably just add a Label (see the 'A' icon on the left side) rather than a shape. Labels are basically similar to Edit Box in Word. You can fill it with color (click the Highlight Color button), change its size, etc. To change the text, use the edit box on the top-left corner of this window.

But these shapes cannot be dynamically altered based on data from the CommitCRM DB can they Neta? I'm imagining a sort of Dashboard report with live graphs based on ticket or other DB data. Would that be possible?

Yes, the shapes in the report are static objects rather than DB charts. Some of the reports contain charts (such as Billable Hours Chart By Employee), however, these are special system reports, which cannot be customized.

A Dashboard which will provide live DB data charts is a great suggestions, and one we've definitely heard before. This is actually rated highly on our features requests list.

At the moment, have you considered exporting data to Excel and using some of the charts there? Exporting is really easy (from Tools > Options > Export), and using the data in Excel (via charts or Pivot tables) can provide some great results.

Thanks for your input!

There is a DBChart object in the report designer. Is there a way to use this to display data?

I'm trying to create a report that shows tickets closed in a period, etc...

Hi Luke,

Thanks for posting this question.
The DBChart function is a closed function that RangerMSP uses in specific reports, and cannot be used in customized reports. We suggest exporting the relevant information to MS Excel, and creating any charts you need there.

Alternatively, you can use our free ODBC Link to permanently tie excel to the data that you need in the chart, so that the chart in Excel is easily updated with the relevant information that you update in the RangerMSP system.

Hope this helps.

If this is highly rated on your feature requests list over one year ago, how many more ratings do we need to give it before it gets on the roadmap? Just curious...

Thanks,

Luke

Thanks lpopejoy,

Actually it's on our list, however other items, discussed in this very same forum, have received a higher priority as they've been much more popular.

I believe you know well how many new features we've been adding and releasing in the last 3 months, no to mention the 5.5 Beta you've just been familiarized with :-)

Anyway, thanks again for the follow up. It does count.

Regards,
Sherry

*** RangerMSP Update **

A Statistics Board was released in RangerMSP version 5.6 which provides much of the functionality requested above.

See more details in What's new in RangerMSP 5.6.

Enjoy!
