When trying to access the software from the wb interface, I am using support.mydomain.com:4961. It first changes the url to support.mydomain.com:4961/EXEC/0/17bzx281jkybxw13rtgpc19xvng5 then it times out on support.mydomain.com:4961/files/cmtcustlogin.html. What am I missing? Thanks

When browsing directly to support.mydomain.com:4961/files/cmtcustlogin.html - does it also time out? If so, it's most likely a firewall issue that blocks such traffic or else it would have returned the log-in page.

When browsing directly it returns a "This web page cannot be displayed", and stays at this address, it does not change. The port is open on the firewall and the internal firewall is off and there is no antivirus on this machine at this time as it is a virtual machine.

Do you test from a real external source? You mentioned in another thread that you are having issues with accessing both from internal and external sources due to firewall settings.

Also, can you please try restarting the RangerMSPWebInterface on your server. In case you've made some changes it's possible that these have not loaded to the service yet.

Please report back.

I have found if I add http:// in front of it, it will take me to the login page. If I just try support.mydomain.com:4961 it will not work. When I type http://support.mydomain.com:4961 it will redirect properly. Is this the desired behavior? Seems like a reirect issue somewhere.

Yes, I am offsite at the moment. I will login and restart the service also.

Thanks for the update. No, it should default to https automatically. What is the address you specified in the Web interface .ini file?

I restarted the server and the same thing. I go to support.mydomain.com:4961 and it returns a page cannot be displayed. If I add http:// in front of it. it takes me to the login page. Also you say it should automatically redirect to https://? I do not have a SSL certificate setup so it is defaulting to just http.

In the CommitWebInterface.ini file the ServerIP is set to support.mydomain.com. Not for sure what is going on. I tried the same thing from my iphone and it redirects me to the mobile sign on screen. I am not able to try a different browser on a pc until later, but I did delete cookies, cache and browsing data from IE and got the same results.

It does not default automatically to https, nor should it.

The problem sounds local. It looks like it works well on your iPhone, whenever you can please check with another Browser or PC and let us know how it goes.

I checked from another pc with the same issue. The internal issue poses a problem as well as I am not authorative for my external domain, godaddy is. The fix your suggesting I do would require me to make a mydomain.com internal dns record, which I am fine with. The problem this presents is that anytime I want to browse to any of my external sites I will have to create a record inside of my network. For example, if I want to go to www.mydomain.com to view my website, I will have to create a record. Same thing for mail.mydomain.com, sharepoint.mydomain.com, etc.etc. I just think it is much more work than necessary and other vendors have a on premises solution that does not require this. Thanks for your continued support on this matter but I am forced to uninstall it and look elsewhere.

Thank you for posting this. The Web interface is widely used mostly in configurations very close to what you described. It normally works very well and we're pretty sure that it is something "small" that is causing this and forcing you to use 'http' in your browser in order for it to work. Maybe a DNS configuration, maybe a firewall one, etc. This is unfortunate for us that you will uninstall based on this issue. In any case, we will be happy to service you until this issue is resolved, even when it seems like it the root cause for this has nothing to do with RangerMSP. Thank you.

Im a fighter, not a quitter! I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it. I figured out what to do for those who use a firewall that will not allow traffic to go out and back in. I created a new dns record for support.mydomain.com and then created a blank A record which points to the ip address of internal server I installed CommitCRM on. I tested with support.mydomain.com:4961 from both inside and outside and it now works!
