Appointment confirmations and reminders

Is there a way to have Appointments confirmations and reminders (preferably HTML formatted) sent to clients automatically? Even if it means using Email Connector, Alerts Server or server-side notification rules.

This is a great question. Depending on the user preference settings, appointment notifications and reminders are emailed to staff/employees, but unfortunately not to clients. The requirement is clear and noted. Thanks for asking.
