Client PIN Number - range?

I'm using 4 digits, but is there a range that I'm restricted to?
Obviously limited to numbers, but min and max?

You stated 12 characters. Does that mean letters as well then? Since it's called a Personal Identification Number I would assume that's not the case.

You can use a combination of numbers, letters and most special characters such as !@#$%^*()_ ~
