RangerMSP Business Automation for successful ITs

We use Quickbooks 2010-11 and are quite happy with the Quickbooks Desktop Link module. Unfortunately we are having some issues with QB and are trying to decide whether to upgrade QB, move to QB online or change to Xero.

I have had a look at the Xero Link documentation but would be interested to hear peoples experiences with using and/or moving to Xero and the Xero link or the latest Quickbooks or Quickbooks online.

E.G. differences in features between the different link add-ins, usability etc.

Thank you for asking. As you've already used the integration with QuickBooks Desktop you would find the integration module with QuickBooks Online easier to use as it will match, to a very high level, what you've learned to use when integrating with QuickBooks Desktop.
The Xero Link is probably more compelling to people already using Xero and want to integrate it with RangerMSP, unlike for people already integrating their RangerMSP with QuickBooks and wanting to move to Xero. It's possible, of course, but there's a learning curve and things work differently with Xero than they do with QuickBooks.

Thanks, I agree about the Xero link - the 2 step invoicing process and lack of item and customer/supplier sync would be a backward step for us.

Having read through the 2 QB Online manuals I could find (Configuration Instructions and Switching to QuickBooks Online from QuickBooks Desktop, it sounds like there is no functional/features difference. If this is not the case would you please list all differences.

The link with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop is basically the same. The only changes derive from the fact that these are two entirely separate systems, so a few changes Intuit implemented in QuickBooks Online (for example field lengths, items and table of accounts, etc.) affect the integration, but in 99% of the cases it is insignificant as they've done a great job by providing overall similar APIs and workflow so we manage to implement the integration with them in a way that affect our users the least.
