Usually port forwarding should be used. You configure the external IP address to your router/firewall, then you configure a firewall rule that re-directs all traffic that goes through the port you specified to the internal IP of the server where RangerMSP is installed.

Thank you for asking.

If you use the Web interface on top of Microsoft IIS you would normally not need to do anything. Most firewalls these days allow traffic on port 80 and 443 (SSL) without you having to do much - and in case you do need to edit anything there should be tons of resources out on the Web that explain how to do that in IIS (it is generic and has nothing to do in specific with RangerMSP).

In case you do not use IIS with the Web interface but rather use the Web interface as a dedicated Windows service - you would need to allow http / tcp traffic to go in both direction (inbound and outbound traffic) on the port that you specify to use with the Web interface in this case. The default port is 4961 though you may have changed that. Once traffic is open on that port all should work. You will need to point such traffic to the server that hosts RangerMSP inside your network. Each firewall is different and therefore we do not and cannot provide the exact details for each though the principle or what you should look for is how to add a rule to allow inbound and outbound traffic over the specified post.

Hope this helps.
