We are trying to setup a task template for follow ups. What we want to do is:

Task A (1) day from date opportunity created
Task B (2) day from date opportunity created
Task C (3) day from date opportunity created
Task D (5) day from date opportunity created
Task E (14) day from date opportunity created

We also set it to adjust to closest workday.

When we add the template to an open opportunity, it is putting tasks a,b, and c, on the same day (today) since the weekend wasn't a workday.

But it doesn't help if they are all on the same day.

How do we make it adjust to the next workday + the number of days it is supposed to offset initially?

Each task looks like this:

Date: Copy form opportunity - open and add (x) days, adjust to closest workday 11am.

Thank you for posting this. An activity template will automatically add the entire tasks sequence once applied, and just like you described you can select that tasks won't fall on the weekend when the system runs the calculation of the dates to use. However the tasks are not linked or chained (just like in the app itself) and as a result indeed the may each end up getting scheduled for the same day. This is an interesting requirement and it is clear why chaining the tasks would have helped. We will take a note and consider. Thanks for asking.

At least i'm not crazy!

How can we have the tasks not get added to the same day?

Is the only option to separate each task by 2-3 days?

:-) that's one option. The other is to quickly review the tasks dates (after the template is applied) and in case needed (date-collision) fixes what's needed.

So the summary screen actually shows the dates that will get applied.

Not being able to chain the tasks is one reason why we cant rely on our CRM tool. It takes so much work to get the system to do any meaningful work or save any real time.

It is very unhelpful overall. All that to the fact that there is very limited reporting, the sales staff isn't using it and we end up paying extra money for a real CRM tool.
