Hi Everyone, has anyone successfully connected to CommitCRM database using the ODBC?
We are looking to be able to slice & dice info in Excel but have been unsuccessful in successfully connecting and extracting data. We are very familiar with using ODBC to MS SQL, however this database is far more complicated - or maybe we just don't know it:)

Any assistance here will be appreciated.
Thanx
Kevin

Kevin, we know of plenty of users using it successfully so it has to be something "small" as ODBC is pretty much standard and once you setup the DSN correctly (... and this is where the problem is most likely is) everything will work the very same way without you even knowing which database is behind it as ODBC abatract the database engine.

You are welcome to email us a screenshot of the DSN settings and we will be able to provide our insights. Thanks!

Kevin,

I've used the ODBC in many setups. It definitely works well.

One of the tricky parts is making sure you are using a 32/64 bit DSN with a 32/64 application (i.e. 32 Bit app needs 32 bit ODBC DSN)

Hooking the connection up in Access is probably easier to query than using Excel - but it depends on what you are trying to do.

You're welcome to email if you run into a road block. luke@incomservice.net
