Hi.

We're evaluating CommitCRM to handle our day-to-day helpdesk operations.
We have installed the CommitCRM version 8.0.0.4 and have configured the email using \\<server hosting CommitCRM>\CommitCRM\Server\ServerConfig.exe

The in-built test on every section shows that the setup is ok.
However, I cannot see new tickets coming in.
The emails still remains on our Exchange mailbox even though the POP3 settings is successful.

Are we missing out any crucial steps?

Please advise.

Regards,
Adrian

Quick question - have you installed 'RangerMSP Server' service on your server? In case you haven't please do, the Email Connector setup guide has a section that explains how to install it.
In case the service is installed, please verify that it is up-n-running and listed under Windows Services list/Window on your server.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi Support.

Thanks for the pointer.
It works; however, we have run into a completely new issue now.
We are using our MS Exchange 2010 to relay the outgoing email.
Running the CommitCRM>\CommitCRM\Server\ServerConfig.exe with all the test showed that our settings were good.

However, we're starting to get the following error dialog box when we login to the system:

ErrorConnect - SMTP Exception: Login failed, please make sure you are using the correct username and password.

Furthermore, we have uncovered that all the outgoing emails have not been sent and there are still inside \\<server hosting CommitCRM>\CommitCRM\Server\QSysEDOutbox

Any clue as to what might have gone wrong?

I have also restarted the CommitCRM Server service after making changes using the ServerConfig.exe

It might be a permission or privilege issue. The RangerMSP Server service runs, by default, under the Local System user that is usually not a privileged user. We recommend that you try editing its Windows properties (Accessed from the Windows Services Window) and assign it to run under an Administrator user.

Also we recommend to define user name and password for outgoing (SMTP) server by running <server>\RangerMSP\Server\ServerConfig.exe utility. So, even if you're hosting your own mail server, have it configured requiring user credentials to send emails (that may be the case already).

After the changes RESTART the service and see if pending emails are sent.

Hope this helps.
