Hi all,

We are looking to get into the Small Business phone market and looking for a good vendor\partner for PBX, phones, and etc... We originally wnated to resell the Microsoft Response Point products but they have unfortunately killed that product. We are currently looking into the TalkSwitch systems you can find here. http://www.talkswitch.com/us/en/

Anyone deal with phone systems and have any recommendations?

We sell talkswitch. They are low cost, high feature and work great with good support.

Thanks Nat, I have a couple more questions if you don't mind.

Do you have any clients that have exceeded the 24 extension requiring you to add additional devices? How hard was that?

Do you have any clients that have more than the maximum 64 extensions? If so what did you recommend for their service?

Thanks

Nat - phone extensions. As i understand it you can only have a maximum of 24 phones (analog and\or VOIP) attached to a single system.

E-ssential - Thanks I will look into them.

E-ssential, got a couple more questions for you.

What do you use to connect your clients 3CX system to POTS lines? As well do you have a preferred VOIP provider? How about a preferred SIP phone provider?

Thanks Everyone this is very helpful.

Ok, resurrecting an old thread here......

Storms came through here a few days ago and fried a bunch of our phone and networking equipment. This is causing me to have to replace our 5 year old phone system. The current equipment is kind of a hybrid system from Aksys Networks (konnectoffice.com). It required no PBX, Server or VoIP provider but gave us the functionality of systems like that. Everything was self contained in the phone with no centralized piece of equipment. We were even able to have phones at our house that communicated back to our office through only the internet.

I am wondering what others out there are currently using or selling. We have a small office of 5 people with need for at least one remote phone.

Thanks in advance

We partnered with a local reseller and use an NEC SV8100. Its all IP based and works very well.

Personally, I think NEC systems are overly complicated. They do work well though. A PIA to program and change. I guess a normal company don't make as many changes as we do so maybe it isnt an issue.

You can connect up to 1000 extensions to fortinet PBX systems. It all depends on which one you get. You can eve run it as a VM and avoid the hardware purchase.

Xorcom is what we use, and it has been great. I have several installs with over 300 extensions and never missed a beat. In-house, we use use Freepbx and it works great as well. We used to sell 3CX, but get much better functionality with Asterisk products.
We are our own provider of SIP services, and use PortaOne for our backend. Fairly easy to get setup.

Do not buy talkswitch! They were great before they were acquired by fortinet. Now hold times are long, and resolutions are even longer.

We have decided to stop selling their products.

No, but I've thought of doing that. We use 3cx and are very happy with it.

Just curious - what functionality are you wanting?

You know you can use TAPi to dial phone #'s from CommitCRM, right?

it would help to open an account based on callerid or a particular ticket based on user input from an IVR,

We already use the TAPI - thanx

I sell Zultys which is an Enterprise-grade IP-based phone system that scales from 1 to 10,000 devices across up to 128 locations. It is a pure SIP phone system that can be appliance based running on Linux or they have a Zultys Hosted Option, Software option (that can run on VMware), or a blend of either.

Zultys is an "all in one" appliance with Voicemail, Auto Attendant, VoiceMail to Email Notification, Outlook/Exchange Integration, Instant Messaging, Fax, IVR, Text to Speech, and Advanced Call Center ACD, Queues, Alerts, Real-Time Reports and Wall Boards. Zultys also offers an intuitive and easy to use interface that allows administrators to manage your entire system in as single image system and one point of administration.

Margins with Zultys are good and can be as high as 50 to 60%. Cost to become a dealer is minimal as you can just spend $30 a month for the Zultys cloud option and take a 3-day Zultys Certified Implementation Specialist training course which I got for free.

I'm also working on becoming Panasonic Certified for the NS700 as the training is online for free and all you need to do is buy a demo kit for about $700.

I agree with HavenZone about Grandstream UCM being a great phone system. I just installed one recently in December for a client and installation was a breeze as the phones can be automatically be provisioned to the server in a simple interface. Programming is simple and intuitive and Grandstream has USA based support in Boston that actually answers the phone. Since I was already familiar with Asterisk I was able to figure out the majority of the programming myself. I only had to speak to Grandstream for a few technical questions.

The system I installed was for 19 phones using a UCM 6510 with PRI with TelePacific as the phone company. The PRI was straight forward to configure and turn up was a simple and painless process as I did all the programming beforehand. I highly recommend Grandstream and am now an Authorized Dealer and have added them to my existing product line.

@lpopejoy did you ever connect 3CX to CommitCRM. We are really looking for a way to log every call that comes into the helpdesk automatically. Unfortunately this is not been done by the agents and a number of clients are getting free service.

No, I did not. I did look at the 3cx api - I think this would be relatively simple to hire a developer to do.

You could also approach it from the "client" side and have the 3cx app launch a browser window that could create a history note on the account as well as show the details about the account.
This would be easier as you would only have to work with CommitCRM API, not the 3cx API.
