Max Users - How Many People have?

Wanted to get an idea of how many users people have with CommitCRM.

Looks like we are passing the 20 user mark, so will have to go to windows server to run CommitCRM unless anyone has some ideas.

Can we put the CommitCRM share on a linux samba share, so the users will connect to the samba share, and the CommitCRM server would be installed to that same share? That possible?

Just trying to get an idea of how people are doing it if over 20 users.

    Any ideas?

Re: Max Users - How Many People have?

RangerMSP is a Windows-based application and it cannot used with a Linux server.

For what it is worth - we have received a few user reports that they have managed to use it on various Linux distros with WINE, however - we do not recommend it.
In addition, the server side modules – like the Web Interface, the Email Connector, Alerts Server, Report Scheduler etc. run as a Windows service (if used) and there’s no way to run these on the Linux server.

Finally, to your other question, we have customers with anywhere between one to several hundreds of users.

    Hope this helps.

Yes totally know it is a windows application and fully intend to run on windows. What wanted to know if the application could be installed on a mapped drive for example from a windows computer. Then that mapped drive could be a samba based share so then the client computers could connect to that same samba share.

What trying to see is if there is any option other than going to windows server to run CommitCRM on to get around the 20 user limit that windows 10 has.

      Any thoughts?

RangerMSP back-end services require to run on Windows so have it on a shared drive alone is probably not the way to go.
A server would still be required at 20+ users, maybe spare licenses of older server OS such as 2012 R2 or similar.

        Hope this helps.
