    How to Search Assets

    Hi,

    In Assets,

If I search for Lenovo, only assets starting with the word Lenovo is displayed.

How can I do wildcard searching

    f.eks. "like Lenovo" or "*Lenovo"

    Re: How to Search Assets

    Select the [V] Filter option
    Open the filtering Window
Select the field to search (Name, Code, etc.), the 'Includes...' condition, and the word to search ("Lenovo" in your case).
    Done!

is there a way to change the default search field to Description or other fields under Assets search?

        Re: How to Search Assets

Thank you for asking. You can have this field default to either a search by the Asset Name or by the Asset Code. This is managed under the Tools > Options > Assets tab and control it by selecting your preferred option in the 'Find Assets by' group box. Hope this helps.

Any plans to allow wildcard searching without having to use a filter? It would be so much nicer to just be able to put *Lenovo in the search field.

Yes, we have plans for enhancing the default Asset search to support wildcards. An ETA hasn't been determined though, most likely in the next release.
