View Full Version : What do you use the Contract Code (Sub Code) field for?

Hi All RangerMSP users.

I have a question.

What do you use the Contract Code (Sub Code) field for? Have you changed or use for anything specific?

We use this to tell us which year and month the contract relates to. So a contract for Mr Jones Bike for December 2022 would be MrJBikes.2212 . Each month we Batch copy the contract and it changes the month; until December..

The issue we see, that is recognised with Ranger Support, is that when you get to January you have to "Manually" go and change every contract to the next year; so there is no option to batch change. So January's contract would be MrJBikes.2301.

So, yes, this question is also a bit of a moan, but also to work out what others are using it for.

Thanks and keep up the good work.
Regards
M

Yes, it is and thank you for the update. I have this raised with Sheli and Dina on support so hopefully, this ticket may raise enough support.

Hi AN-Tech, thank you for your comment and hopefully, the more companies get behind this the more chances of a change being made increase.

Please can I ask if there is any update on this or if anyone else would like to comment? Just about to manually change the sub-contract on 500 contracts, merry Christmas and may be completed by the new year!

Thanks for posting and happy holidays!

We should be able to help with such an update. We have just sent you an email with more details.

Hope this helps.

We gave up on doing anything of real value with that field because we didn't want to manually update it for all contracts at the beginning of the year. It now just automatically increases by 1 for each renewal period and serves nothing more than to make each copy of the contract unique.
