Does anyone have an internal quote approval process that they would like to share?

We have consultants that are allowed to produce quotes, but need management review and approval before sending them to clients. Any suggestions?

It is an interesting question and probably others will share their specific workflows.

It seems that the quote should be marked as "Approval needed" and then as "Approved".

You may consider using one of the predefined, and "free" fields under the Properties tab to fill the approval stage.

So two followup questions:
- Is there a way to have the field auto populate with a default value (e.g. Approval Needed)?
- Is there a way to receive an alert on a quote or field status change?

You are welcome!

Yes, it is possible to set a default value for the Field 1/2/3 (under the Quote Properties tab).

You should right click the field and open the Field Settings window. Then under the Field Behavior tab select or type the default value.

Currently no alerts are sent about Quotes or changes in the Quote details. We will take a note on your question.
