In an MSSQL there are log files that could be used to reconstruct the database if disaster struck. In the Advantage Database are there log files? If not, is there any way to automatically get a PDF report (or text file) written out for any new ticket entered?

I am aware of the backup options noted in your documentation, I was just looking for something a little more robust.

Thank you,
Alan

Thank you for posting this.

In general, data corruption will require a restoration from a backup. Index corruption, on the other hand, can be simply rebuilt using a dedicated utility.

When using RangerMSP with the SQL backend it is also possible to configure live backups. Such live backups can run while the system is being used, and you can automate the entire backup process by connecting it to Windows Scheduler.

As for notifications about new tickets - this functionality is provided by the Alerts to Employee feature, which is a part of the Alerts Server) module, that allows users to receive email alerts about newly created tickets as well as about other updates.

Full information about configuring and using Alerts Server can be found in this article.

Hope this helps.
