Hi

We work in close conjunction with a partner company.

We would like this company to be able to create tickets, via the web interface, on behalf of a subset of our customers.

Our requirement is similar to the subcontractor function but our need is for the partner to be able to create tickets whereas the subcontractor is allocated tickets by us.

Thanks

Thank you for posting this.

In practice, a Subcontractor user is an Employee user with specific (more limiting) privileges, e.g. the user is assigened with the Subcontractor privileges group.

You can add your partner as an Employee and provide them with relevant privileges - you can create a dedicated privilege group with relevant permissions and control what they can view and perform - this will affect on their Web User as well.
In addition you can select the Accounts they will be able access via Web Interface and add tickets or other information for them based on the permissions you will grant.

You may find relevant information in the following articles:

Employee Privileges
Subcontractors Permissions

So in short - you can create a new privileges group with access rights similar to Subcontracts but with the ability to create new tickets (for allowed Accounts).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I assume an additional CommitCRM license would be required?

It still implements the subcontractors features so a license for them is required like it is for other users.

Another option you may consider - create Customer Web User for your partner, however you will need to create a separate user for each Account the partner should be able to rise Tickets.
This requires the license for RangerMSP Web Interface for Customer where you can add unlimited number of customer Web Users.

Hope this helps.

That is very useful.

Thanks again.
