For some reason the contracts are not being automatically selected for accounts? There are no other contracts for those accounts so not sure why it’s not automatically selecting those contracts?

Answer

The Contract will not be selected automatically if it is out of date as well as when it is not active. Please check the Contract's Start/End Dates and the Status.

The other reason, that I understand that you are aware of, is that there's more than one active and current Contract to the same Account. In such cases it is up to the user to select which Contract to use.
