I would like to change the ticket number series from 0500-XXXX to 2015-XXXXXX.
I want to be bale to change the pre-fix at the beginning of each year, and I want to expand the numeric values to 6 from 4.
Example: at the end of 2014 we are on 2014-010292, and I change the pre-fix to 2015 and we start January 1, 2015 with 2015-000001.

Can this be done?
Thank you.

Thanks for asking. The 0500 part of the ticket is fixed and cannot be modified, however, you can increment the running number, so for example you can increment it to 50000 (5 for 2015) and next year to 60000 etc, so the first digit will represent the year (This can be done by a RangerMSP administrator under Tools > Options > Tickets (Admin) tab.).
Having said that, each ticket has a dedicated Open Date field, so it isn't necessarily required to embed the year inside the number itself as you always have the option to filter by the year, but anyhow you can also use the trick I mentioned above.

Hope this helps.

That does not address my issue because I have over 10,000 tickets per year. I have seen several requests from your customers to let them modify the prefix. I understand that it is not changeable at this time, but I can't see any valid reason for this limitation. Whatever paradigm is driving this limitation is long overdue for retirement.
Best regards.

Thanks for your feedback. Note that you are not limited to 10,000/year. The number goes up to any number you'll need. Once you'll hit 9,999 it'll continue to 10,000 then when you'll hit 99,999 it'll continue to 100,000, etc. etc. so no limits on that front.

Hope this helps.
