Deleting Items already charged

I am trying to cleanup items - Labor, Expense and Products however I cannot delete them if already charged. What is the workaround as I need to clear out a lot of labor charges we don't use anymore so the drop down list for technicians is not as cluttered? Please advise.

Indeed, in order to keep the database integrity and your activity history intact, Items which were already used in Charges cannot be deleted.

What you can do is set the Item as Suspended (from the Item window, check the Suspend checkbox). This way the Item will remain in the database and in the Items list, but it will not appear in the pull-down lists, such as when you select an Item for a Charge. You can also filter the Items list in the Items window and the Items reports not to display the Suspended Items if you wish to view only the active Items.
