View Full Version : How to change default for "Purchased From Us" field for new Assets

RangerMSP User Question*

When we add a new client, and create a new asset for the computer they’ve brought into the shop for repair, the default setting for the asset is that they purchased the asset from us, most times this is not the case and we don’t want that indicated on the repair ticket. Is there a way to change this so by default it is set to indicate the asset was not bought from us?

Answer

Yes, there is. Right click field 'Purchased From Us' and from the pop up menu select the Field Settings option.
Then - Under the Field Behavior tab change the default value for the field to 'Unchecked' and save.

ALL RangerMSP clients should be restarted for the changes to affect.

I don't see a field behavior setting.

I asked this very question a long time ago and was told it could not be changed.

What version must you have for this to work?

Support for this setting was added in RangerMSP 8.
