Hi,
Not sure if this is something others have mentioned or asked for in the past, but it is something we would definitely like to see implemented.
We have monthly contracts for customers for different types of services, and in general we need a specific contract to be set as the default for each account.
At the end of each month we use the Batch Copy and Batch Close functions to create the new contracts for the next month and to close the contracts for the completed month.
In between these two processes we need to manually set the newly created contracts as the defaults for the relevant accounts, which adds a manual time consuming process to what is otherwise well automated.
Our suggestion is to expand the Batch Copy of Contracts function to give the option to set the newly created contracts as the new default contracts for each account.
We know that we also have the option to allow the application to select the default contract based on the date range, but we cannot use that feature because we typically have more than one contract per account each with the same date range of the calendar month. For our purposes, the separate contracts reflect different types of services and we need to separate them a number of reasons.

Any chance of adding this feature?

Thank you for the detailed and clear post about an advanced scenario with multiple recurring contracts for your accounts. Yes, I will add this as a feature request and can definitely see how it would have helped in this scenario. The probablem I see is that renewing Contracts can be done up-front. For example you can renew it on the 25th of each month and it will actually renew on the 1st of next months (so, there's no pressure to prepare it in the last minute), yet, with this relate scenario you would still want the original default Contact to run by the end of the month and only then, on the 1st to have it replaced by the other newer Contract that you've prepared a few days back... Yet, there should be a resolution for this. We will think about this and consider the options here. Thanks for asking.

Thank you.
For our purposes, we arrange the copy process at the actual end of the month so if the batch process set the default contract at the time it is run that would suit us, but I can see that it may not suit everyone.
