Batch Update Item Tax

Hello,

Never paid too much attention to the item taxable field until we have tried using Quotes. The 'original' default tax setup in Charges & Items was at the states old tax rate of 7.25%. For 2013, it's now 7.5%. I have changed it in Charges & Items, but it appears that only new items are changing over to the new tax rate.

Is there a way to batch change item tax? Or do I have to manually change the tax rate on each individual item?

Side note, using the account batch tax rate change worked perfectly for accounts.

Thank you for asking this. The easiest option would probably be to edit the tax rate for the already selected tax of your items. This will immediately affect all existing Items and tax will be calculated based on the new values when you'll print any report with Charges information and tax amounts.

Usually the Batch Account update is used when no tax rates were defined for the Account, yet also when you want to replace the tax from one to the other.

If you want to actually modify the tax settings of each individual Item then you'll have to do it manually. Good point though about batch update of items tax settings. Our next release will introduce some new taxing options where you will not necessarily need to select any tax for your items so maybe this will make things even simpler in this regards.
