VPN mode is slightly faster, what did you'll do to get the improvement?

@ray - thanks!
@nattivillin - a better server side compression of the data at the server side which is then decompressed at the remote PC side.

That improvement plus the SQL upgrade makes it really snappy over VPN. Not real time, but the screen doesn't freeze between field changes.

Does more bandwidth increase the speed much?

Thanks for your feedback. We're happy to hear that 6.0 works faster for you over VPN.

Yes, more bandwidth will help. The other important factor is latency and the number of servers and routers each packet should travel between your office where RangerMSP is installed and your remote location (from where you are connected over VPN).

Many times if you use the same ISP in both locations it'll result in very low latency and much less hops, while if you use different ISPs more servers and routers are involved and it takes more time for all packets to arrive between locations, regardless of the actual speed both sides are using to connect to the Internet.

Well, I'll have to wait and see. I only got 3 months of updates with my purchase in December, and no updates were released until now. Just like the cell phone I bought 16 months ago. I have to wait, or pay the penalty because I am not 'eligible' :(
