I have setup CommitCRM Web Interface. I have opened port # 4961 and port forwarded to the CommitCRM server. I can login using the web interface locally but can’t do it from outside. I tried telneting the public IP address against the port number , 4961 but it is not responding. Any idea?
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Thank you for posing this. Unfortunately we won't be able to help much here :-(

The RangerMSPWebInterface service doesn't really "care" where traffic is originated from. It listens to the configure port and when a request arrives it processes it. As it work in your internal network it will work when the external port forwarding and configuration will work. Unfortunately each network, router, firewall, Internet connection, etc. are different and it is out of our ability to assist with it. I can guarantee that once the port forwarding settings will be in place (sometimes tricky to configure) all will work flawlessly.

I hope this helps. I wish I could be more helpful.

Hi Dina,

Thanks for your reply. I have managed to telnet to the CommitCRM server port number from outside after I changed the default port number to 5961. When I try http://xx.xx.xxx.xxx:5961 (where xx is public ip address) from outside it tries to connect to the remote CommitCRM server but is not bringing the login page. I tried it on both IE and Mozilla web clients.
Any ideas?

Regards,
Dan

It's possible that your firewall blocks the http protocol while still allows telnet. Please verify that http is allowed and not blocked by the firewall.

If add "/EXEC/0/18y0bfb1tp43yc1dbvgir11vr1bm" to the end of the port number as shown here http://xx.xx.xxx.xxx:5961/EXEC/0/18y0bfb1tp43yc1dbvgir11vr1bm, it comes up with the login page but when I provide user name and password it doesn't log me in it just sits there and times out.
Any ideas?
Regard,
Dan

Check the RangerMSPWebInterface.ini file and make sure that your external IP address is specified. Then, restart the RangerMSPWebInterface service and try again.

Thanks.

Inorder to try CommoitCRM on Windows Terminal Server your support site mentions SQL is required. Where or how do I download SQL?
