is it possible to have the default status to active when creating a new account in CommitCRM? otherwise we have to create the account, then make the change to active after creating. thanks

I assume that you are referring to a default value for one of the Accounts fields with a drop/down list of value, one that you use to hold the Account Status.

Yes, you can set a default value for such a field so whenever you add a new Account the default will be taken. For example, setting the default value Active to all newly created Accounts.

For this visit log into RangerMSP using a RangerMSP SysAdmin account. Open the Accounts Window, navigate to the tab that stores the relevant field, right click its Label and select 'Field Settings'. A window will open - navigate to the 'Field Behavior' tab and at the bottom select the default value. Click OK and all is done. Whenever you'll create a new Account the selected value will already be filled.

Important Notes:
1. Always select a default value that exists in the drop down list.
2. Remember to restart RangerMSPWebInterface service on your server (if used) and any third party application that integrates with RangerMSP.
