Is there a way to prevent CommitCRM users (techs) from sync-ing items with outlook -- first off, we don't want them messing up the accounts in CommitCRM by possibly syncing their junk contacts, calendar and task items back and forth with CommitCRM and second, we don't want them being able to quickly download the entire client list... think discgruntled employee situation...

how do we disable sync options for specific users while allowing sync to happen with one account.

Employees that do not have privileges to the Accounts module cannot sync Accounts with Outlook. In case they can use the Accounts module in RangerMSP they will also be able to sync with their Contact list. In that case you should ask them not to.

Thanks,

we need the techs to at the very least, be able to view and edit accounts. Which right allows them to sync (view, edit, delete)?

if you ask anyone who purchases the CommitCRM software what the number one asset in their company is, I'd be willing to bet the farm that every one of them will say their clients (or client list)... protecting the client inforamation is extremely important. We need the ability to lock down the sync option outside of the accounts settings (techs need to be able to view, add and edit accounts else they couldn't get anything done!).

again, which Account right(s) allows techs to sync outlook items (view, edit, delete)? Really would like to lock this down so they can't sync outlook if possible.

Remove all Accounts related privileges (they can still resolve tickets).

that's what I was afraid of... which means they can't even look up a client phone number to call them so they can complete a ticket...

Not exactly sure why this is tied to accounts anyhow as task items and calendar items have nothing to do with accounts. hoping we can get this split out as a lockable right some day.

thanks for the update!
