I need to import Account information as well as appointment times and dates into CommitCRM. How can I do this?

You may consider a few options for importing information into RangerMSP:

Accounts:
1. Using the Tools > Options > Import & Export menu, you can import your Accounts from various sources, such as Excel files, CSV (text) files and also from Outlook (one-way import into RangerMSP).
2. When using QuickBooks, you can import your contacts/vendors from QuickBooks into RangerMSP Accounts
3. Using the RangerMSP-Outlook Sync module you can synchronize your Accounts between RangerMSP and Outlook (two-ways sync).

Appointments:
Using the RangerMSP-Outlook Sync module, you can synchronize your Outlook Appointments with RangerMSP (two-ways sync). This allows you to synchronize Appointments and Tasks between RangerMSP and Outlook.

For more details on importing and synchronizing information, you can read our RangerMSP Setup Guide on our web site. You can find also other useful guides on our site under Support > Documentation.

Using the Outlook Sync, how is there a relationship between an appointment and an account?

Hi,

When an Appointment is created in RangerMSP, and is linked to an Account, and you sync the Appointment with Outlook this link is saved. So even if you modify the Appointment in Outlook and then sync it back with RangerMSP, the link is saved.

When importing new Appointments from Outlook, no link between the Appointment and the Contact is imported. In this case you need to manually link it to the relevant Account in RangerMSP (this will keep this link from now on). Working the other way around - managing your Appointments in RangerMSP, then syncing with Outlook will provide better relation between the two.

Note that you can automatically copy some of the Account's information into the Appointment description, allowing you to easily know to which Account it belongs when viewing it in Outlook. This can be done by default, for all of the Appointments by setting Tools > Options > Calendar > Miscellaneous and check the "Attach Account details to description" box. You can also do this manually per Appointment by clicking the yellow arrow next to the Account in the Appointment window.
