editing fields

Is there a way to edit fields and add drop downs. For example: In contracts, when adding new contracts, I would like to edit the "name" field and add a drop down showing the contracts we have available for consistantcy. Is it possible to add drop downs to different fields? Or are there only certain feilds in which this can be done.

Most textual fields in RangerMSP are drop downs and you can edit the values displayed in the drop down.
Fields which are not drop downs - like Name, cannot be converted into a drop down field.

In general, you have plenty of fields with drop downs. However, should you require additional fields you should use the built in customizations options in RangerMSP and add completely new database fields with the type you want - including drop down fields (as well as numeric, alpha, amount, date, etc. field types).
