Hi,

Whats the best way of creating contracts. We use two types of contracts mainly:

Unlimited IT Support
Pay As You Go IT Support

For clients who opt for unlimited IT Support we provide them with support and is mostly non billable work. But sometimes when the work is billable we need to be able to charge them flat rate for remote support and on-site support which are currently £25/h and £50/h respectively.

And for PAYG clients all the work is billable at the same rate as above except we want to be able to take a block of money from them in advance and deduct it as they take support from us.

I noticed you have to create a code for each contracts and was wondering what the best way would be.

Any help would be much great.

Channi,

The Contract Code is a unique identifier of this contract. It is usually used in a way the tells what it is and to which customer it is related to.

Like "PAYG-Sony-2011", (for pay-as-you-go contract, the a customer called Sony and for the year of 2011). However, you can construct it any way you like, as long as it is unique.

The scenarios you listed are both fully supported.
You can learn all about it using this link, it lists all related user guides and videos.

Dina
