You can add the barcode for to your reports by designing the Technician Form in the report designer and adding a barcode field.

You should copy the report to your customized reports and then click the Design button to design it. Click here to read more about designing reports.

When designing your custom report, you can add the barcode field by selecting the DBBarCode field type in the tool bar. You should then select the data which should be displayed in this field (e.g. Ticket Number) from the data fields list in the top-left corner in the designer tool bar.

Right-clicking on the barcode field > Configure... will allow you to set the type of encoding.

How do you get barcodes into the system? Do you work with barcode scanners?

Yes, you can use a barcode scanner withRangerMSP.

When a barcode reader is attached to your computer and you "fire" on a barcode label, the number behind the barcode label will be automatically typed in the field where the cursor blinks.

For example you can open the Assets window, put the cursor in the Asset Code search field and use the barcode reader to read a barcode sticker attached to a computer, the Asset code will be copied to the search field. The same goes for search fields of any window such as Tickets, Item codes etc.

You can also use this to add new Assets to the system, and automatically copy the barcode number from the barcode scanner into the new RangerMSP Asset's Code field or Serial Number field as you wish.
