CommitCRM Users - How do you enter phone numbers

I recently ran into a usability glitch because we have been entering phone numbers into CommitCRM in the form of 555-555-5555 instead of (555) 555-5555.

We have always entered them in this way because it is very easy to do so, all keys needed on on the num pad. In order to do the other format you have to use the full keyboard and press extra keys to get the ( and ).

So I was curious as to how everyone else is doing this. If you have a free minute please let me know.

I like consistency and try to enter all numbers as NNN.NNN.NNNN - I wish CommitCRM would auto-format (mandate) this field.

Also noticed that the second phone field is synced only to Mobile and the first Business... at least the way we use it: sync to Outlook, then to Google Contacts, then to our Blackberries. So on the BB, cell will register only for the second phone number.
