I can see, that I can specify a default labor in a contract. Which is good.

but.
It is possible to specify a default labor for the Global System Contract ?

Or is it possible to specify a global system default labor for all accounts at once ?

When having Contracts records you can indeed select default Items for Labor, Expense and Parts so when a new Charge is added under this contact the default item is automatically selected for the new charge based on the charge type (labor/expense/part).

The global system contract is a "virtual" contract that can be used whenever no other contract is defined for the account. As it is "virtual" you cannot set default items to it. I can see how this may help and logged this as a feature request.

Commit 9 years and why is this still not a feature? Or is there a work around?

Thank you for posting this and asking. Good timing - Default Items can already be set for your Contracts. Support to settings such default Items to the 'Global System Contract' is coming in our next new version (23).
